I am a Post-Doctoral Researcher at Northwestern University in the Science of Networks in Communities (SONIC) research group. I received my Ph.D. in Sociology from the University of California, Berkeley in August 2016. I work at the intersection of cultural sociology, social psychology, and computational social science. My research looks at the social structure of culture, specifically how cultural behaviors are distributed throughout society and how social interaction is conditioned by a person's position in society. My research has explored patterns of culture in diverse areas of social life, including consumption, time use, arts participation, sociality, organizational and group behavior, and diplomacy. I primarily use computational methods, including nonparametric statistics, network analysis, text analysis, and information theory.
